Is Justin Bieber Stepping Back from Music to Focus on Religion?

The 23-year-old is reportedly focused on a more "spiritual life"

July 26, 2017

Justin Bieber canceled the remainder of his Purpose tour earlier this week, and now we've heard that his spirituality could be at the center of the decision. Apparently, we can blame a "spiritual awakening" for the shift in Bieber's priorities.

So many are wondering if this means more than just canceled performances. Could Bieber be taking a more permanent break from music?

Bieber's involvement with the Hillsong Church appears to be at the center of the whole thing. The church is said to merge Christianity and culture. Well, Bieber is apparently trying to be the Tom Cruise of the Hillsong Church, one source told TMZ

Bieber has totally denied that the church played a role in his decision to abruptly end his tour. He seems to suggest that it's related to exhaustion more than anything. The official statement from Bieber's people says the tour was canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances."

TMZ reports that Bieber's relationship with Hillsong New York City pastor Carl Lentz played a role in the decision. Lentz, by the way, did not advocate that Bieber should cancel the remainder of his tour, according to TMZ. Lentz has, however, influenced other life decisions from the Biebs. One source says Bieber made the decision after "spiritual soul searching."

If TMZ's reports are true, could this be a more permanent break from music for the 23-year-old pop star? Justin, by the way, currently has three songs on the Billboard Hot 100. His collaborations on "Despacito" and "I'm the One" are both in the Top 5. Plus, his latest release with David Guetta has been steadily rising up the charts.
