Taco Bell Ditching the Drive-Thru to Sell Booze?

By: Kelly Meyers

September 19, 2017

If you frequent the drive-thru at Taco Bell, this news may make you sad. The popular chain announced today that they are going to get rid of the drive-thru and instead offer booze at some new locations.

This change probably won't affect too many existing locations, but the chain is planning on opening new “cantina-style” locations over the next couple of years. These new store models will be built in larger cities. Instead of offering a drive-thru option, those stores will offer alcohol to customers.

What kind of alcohol will they be offering? They will serve beer, wine, sangria. Plus, they will offer their signature Twisted Freezes (with vodka, tequila, or rum).

Change has been part of the game lately for Taco Bell. The fast-food chain has been evolving over the last few years, and now they have the "healthiest fast-food menu."

The insides of stores are starting to look nicer too. They are remodeling stores and taking them from the 90's gray and teal color themes to something much more modern and appealing.

The interiors looked like something straight out of the TV show Saved By the Bell.

Most restaurants now have been remodeled to look more like the photo below.

How about a wedding at a Taco Bell Cantina? There is already a Taco Bell Cantina in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip that offers alcohol AND wedding pacakges.
