This news is "so fetch."

Tina Fey revealed that the musical version of the hit film, Mean Girls, is very close to hitting the stage. In fact, it will happen this year.

Fey told Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (May 10) that the show is coming together quite well. The Saturday Night Live alum says that previews of the show will start on Halloween at a theater in Washington D.C. The cast has been set, and Fey says she has been blown away by their talent. In fact, she compared them all to Justin Timberlake.

The musical surely has a lot of star power behind its production. Fey's husband, Jeff Richmond, is writing the music for the show. Plus, Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels is one of the show's producers. They talented team is rounded out by others who have tons of Broadway experience in screenwriting, producing, and choreography.

The Mean Girls Musical will run in D.C. from October 31 through December 3. It is expected to open on Broadway in New York City next year.

That wasn't all the fun that Tina had on the show last night. She joined Fallon's barbershop quartet to cover Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like."
