Olivia Newton-John Battling Breast Cancer for the Second Time

May 30, 2017

Olivia Newton-John is once again battling breast cancer. The 68-year-old singer announced on Tuesday that she was canceling her June tour, and will begin treatment for breast cancer soon.

Newton-John said she thought she was originally suffering from back pain, but medical testing revealed breast cancer had actually spread to her back.

In Tuesday's statement, she said she will undergo radiation and natural wellness treatments in Melbourne, Australia. She hopes to perform later this year.

This is the second time that the Grease actress has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her first diagnosis came in 1992, just hours after her father passed away. She was declared cancer-free after undoing chemotherapy and a partial mastectomy. Newton-John has remained an advocate for fighting the disease.
