WATCH: Miley Cyrus & Adam Sandler Perform Emotional Tribute For Victims of Las Vegas Shooting

October 3, 2017

They were an unlikely pair, but yet, this duo’s performance last night (October 2) was exactly what we needed.

Miley Cyrus kicked off a week of appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a very emotional opening performance of Dido’s 2013 song, “No Freedom” at the start of the program. She was joined by comedic actor Adam Sandler for the performance.

The show’s host, Jimmy Fallon, introduced the performance by acknowledging Sunday night’s tragedy in Las Vegas.

“In the face of tragedies and acts of terror, we need to remember that good still exists in this world,” Fallon said.

During a sit down interview with Fallon, Cyrus said she wanted to “share hope.”

“What is music if we can’t go see our favorite artists perform because we’re scared of violence,” she said.

Miley will appear on The Tonight Show all this week to promote her new album, Younger Now, which dropped on Friday (September 29). Meanwhile, Adam Sandler appeared on the program to promote his new Netflix comedy with Dustin Hoffman, The Meyerowitz Stories.

The Tonight Show closed with another epic performance from Miley. She performed her 2009 powerful balad, "The Climb."

Gosh, Miley, your voice last night gave us the hope we desperately needed.
