Toni's Two Cents on ABC’s, The Good Doctor

Loving this show!

The Good Doctor is a brand, spanking new, tear-jerking, all the feels show about a surgical resident by the name of Shaun Murphey, with autism and savant syndrome. The character is played by Bates Motel’s Freddie Highmore and has a few other recognizable characters as well.

Now, I don’t want to spoil the show for anyone who hasn’t seen it but it is a definite MUST SEE. This show isn’t your usual cookie-cutter, overly dramatic show. Let me tell you, Doctor Murphey has been through some things. In each episode, you get a couple flashbacks and a few looks into the life that led up to where he is now.

Not all of his co-workers believe that he deserves to be there but he proves them wrong and teaches them a little about empathy each episode. Although a couple of the characters are harsh when it comes to Shaun, you can see them softening up a little each episode. I love that Doctor Murphey doesn’t react negatively to the way the other doctors treat him. Don’t get me wrong, when you watch it, you are going to flip at least once per episode because of how overly tough they are on him but don’t worry. He rises to the occasion every time.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you can catch it every Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC, and THEN you can join in on the conversation.
